Android 7.0 Nougat: Sony Announces the Xperia devices will be updated

Sony has announced that nine aircraft currently outstanding will receive an update to Android Nougat. The list includes all the X Xperia and Xperia Z 2015.

Android 7.0 Nougat has been launched with updates aimed primarily Nexus but it will as always be patient for the other devices. And even. Not sure that's enough. Each manufacturer is more or less free to choose whom he will update. Better to check that your equipment is in their lists if you do not want to wait for anything and Sony has just communicated his, or at least a draft on its official blog.

Eight smartphones and tablet

Unsurprisingly, it includes all the 2016 models Almost. Only the Xperia E5 missing but that was expected given its positioning. We thus find the Xperia X Performance, Xperia X, Xperia and Xperia XA XA Ultra. That is the X series in full force. This spoils the other hand on the side of the old models. Only Xperia Z was selected and Sony does not go beyond 2015 will, therefore, be updated Xperia Z5 Z5 Compact Xperia, Xperia, and Xperia Z5 Premium + Z3 / Z4 in addition to the Xperia Tablet Z4.
If you have a Sony camera and it has been mentioned above, so that it should not receive the official update to Android Nougat. It is not impossible that the firm completes its list later as she had done during the transition to Lollipop but we still would rely too much on it for you. This will probably push that disappointment ... No date is also provided.

HTC and LG also in the starting blocks

To end on a note a little more cheerful, enjoy it to recall those other manufacturers also preparing for the arrival of Nougat. HTC has confirmed there are several months since its last flagship, the HTC 10, would pass to the new version of Android, like the One M9 and A9 One. On the side of Samsung, the Galaxy Note 7 should be entitled to an update in October or November. Finally, LG will introduce the first smartphone equipped with Nougat natively on 6 September: the famous V20.

It's new but not for everyone: Android 7.0 Nougat

Surprise! Monday, August 22 was the day of Nougat. Finally surprise, not that much. Canadian operator Telus had published a note informing the availability of Android 7.0 just on that date.

Google has provided official confirmation. Nougat, a number of users since the public beta test in May, adds multiple features for the mobile platform: split screen, Doze on the Go to save battery, support Google's VR namely Daydream

LG V20: first smartphone natively under Nougat

And how to access these new features? This is where things get complicated a bit. This is not new, however. The vast majority of Android device owners will be able to taste the nougat for weeks, if not months (some even never).

First served will be those fitted with Nexus: Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, 6P Nexus, Nexus 9, Nexus Player Pixel C and General Mobile 4G (Android One) receive updates "over-the-air" in during "the coming weeks".

The terminals associated with Android Beta program Google will automatically be updated to the final version of the OS. As for Android manufacturers customers like Samsung, Motorola, HTC and others, they will have to wait until these adapt Nougat and then deploy it.

For owners of smartphones or tablets purchased from a telephone operator, with an overlay of it and therefore not desimlockés, the wait will be even longer. The most impatient can also pick a smartphone with preinstalled Nougat.

And the first smartphone running Android 7.0 natively to land on the market is the LG V20 LG manufacturer. The launch is scheduled for September 6.
