The LEECO 2: first consumer smartphone with ultrasonic fingerprint sensor?
LEECO was the first manufacturer to integrate sensor solution ultrasound Qualcomm, the Snapdragon Sense ID. So it's no great surprise to see that the Chinese brand evokes the arrival of this technology on its new smartphone, the 2nd.
LEECO (formerly LeTV) was the first to equip one of its smartphones (Max Pro) with a Snapdragon 820 processor, but also a Snapdragon Sense sensor ID, ultrasonic fingerprint reader Qualcomm. The unit remains rather confidential, with only a few thousand units sold currently. The first mainstream smartphone to offer this type of sensor could be the LEECO the 2.
Chinese brand has indeed post a message on its official Weibo account, leaving apparently reveal clues about the fingerprint sensor technology. The first conclusions tend to say that this confirms the presence of Snapdragon Sense ID on the next smartphone range, the 2nd who recently made about him. However, this is not a real surprise since Feng Xing in person, the CEO of the firm, had confirmed at MWC 2016 arrival of a new "superphone" that would also be equipped with this "revolutionary technology".
Efficient technology
For the record, Sense ID stands out from its competition by analyzing footprints by ultrasound, which allows it to take into account the depth of the latter and thus increase safety by preventing the risk of diversion through a simple image. In addition, this technology remains functional even if the finger is wet or greasy.
Recall that the two should be equipped according to the rumors of a 1440p screen of 5.7 inches, a Snapdragon processor 820 coupled with 4GB of RAM, cameras 21 and 8 megapixels, 64GB of storage internal and USB Type-C. All that remains to be conditional until the official confirmation, even if the chances of reaching this smartphone on French territory outside imports are practically nil.
